About Me

Hi, I’m Katrina Fox, strategic storytelling consultant for businesses big and small.
I help purpose-led entrepreneurs, founders, executives, experts, leaders and corporate brands find, craft and share stories that inspire, influence and impact your audiences – from investors and customers to your team.
Strategic storytelling is all about finding and shaping compelling tales, using proven frameworks, that present information in a way that not only engages but also leaves a lasting impression on your audiences.
Features, benefits and data alone don’t lead people to take action – stories do.
Let me help you tell yours.
MY STORY
Growing up in a council flat just outside south-east London, I felt like an outsider. My adoptive mother told me my ‘real’ parents didn’t want me (not true, I found out later) and denigrated my heritage (I’m half-Persian by birth).
Realising I was gay in my early teens in a time and place that wasn’t safe to be ‘out’ didn’t help matters, so I spent most of my childhood through to my early 20s hiding and feeling ashamed of parts of myself.
Getting my Performing Arts degree gave me the confidence to come out and I spent the next few years acting, dancing and performing, hanging out with a posse of colourful and unconventional characters who showed me how to live unapologetically as yourself.
In the late-90s, I completed a journalism course and landed my first jobs within the B2B sector, writing and sharing stories to engage niche audiences in HR, construction and architecture.
In 2001 I moved to Sydney, Australia with my wife and opened a vegan and eco hair and beauty salon.
Shortly after, I found my niche working for the LGBTIQ media, editing magazines, and becoming a recognised figure in the space. I even performed some standup character comedy including a one-woman show for the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and Adelaide Feast festivals.
The personal brand I created led to speaking engagements and various writing opportunities. This included major global book publishers commissioning me to edit two non-fiction anthologies sharing the stories of trans and other sex and/or gender diverse people.
In 2015, my book, Vegan Ventures: Start and Grow an Ethical Business, was published – the first of its kind in the world.
A year later, I launched my podcast, Vegan Business Talk, also the first of its kind, and was a Forbes contributor for a year writing about the sector.
Since then, I’ve grown my personal brand as a vegan and plant-based business expert, created an online PR course and ran a membership for vegan women leaders.

I’ve spoken at events worldwide and mastered the art of reinvention, (re)creating a personal brand and getting in front of the right people.
During this time I developed my copywriting, content marketing and PR skills. I’ve created content for major corporate clients, including Microsoft, Google, KPMG and many others through Pinstripe Media and other agencies, as well as helping to raise the profile and share the stories of vegan, plant-based and other ethical brands.
I’m here to make sure your stories don’t just get told – they get heard and remembered.
